Rejoice Always...

Today is going to be a great day! Can't you feel it? The sun is rising and the birds are singing. There is a warmth which transcends even the sun in the sky. Today is going to be a great day.

Everyday can be this way - even when we face troubles, hardships, and pain  - everyday can be a great day. We have the choice to make it that way.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

Rejoice always...always - even in times of sorrow and in times of adversity. Rejoice in the Lord when you succeed and when you laugh. Rejoice in the Lord when you suffer or lose. Rejoice in the Lord.

Rejoicing in the Lord means showing thankfulness for all that God has done for you and in all situations. We remember our blessings - Jesus' sacrifice for our sin, our lives, our families, our friends, our homes, our church, and on and on the blessings flow.

When we focus on all the good God has done in our lives it becomes a challenge to see anything as less than great - even in the harshest of circumstances. It is okay to feel pain, loss and sorrow - to even be angry about the situation you are facing - but it would be wrong to wallow in that pain; to allow the pain of the situation to overshadow the joy of being a chosen child of God.

God does not promise us happiness but He has given us joy, and sometimes in the midst of that joy we will have sorrow and pain, but still we will be able to rejoice in the Lord because He has given us life - life eternal.

Today is going to be a great day...
